Canazei is a magical place, in which history, traditions, arts, language and environment as well as legends date back to ancient times, but are reborn in a new manner with every single sunrise. Those who visit Canazei are absolutely fascinated by its charm that makes this place unique still nowadays.  

The arts of the Val di Fassa have always been closely connected to religious beliefs of people, even though in different epoques various art styles followed each other. Some of the main art crafts in the valley were wood processing, wood carving and decoration. 

Actually wood carving is still today a highly regarded handcraft which is taught at several schools such as the “Institute of Arts Pozza di Fassa”, where local sculptors, artists and painters are trained.
