The Val di Fassa is an eldorado for those who love winter sports. Go on the rampage on one of the well-groomed slopes of the valley, stop and enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the mountain huts and admire the rough Dolomite peaks surrounding you.
Canazei and the entire Val di Fassa valley are widely known for their perfectly groomed slopes and ideal skiing conditions. Its 7 skiing areas belong to the world’s largest ski carousel Dolomiti Superski. Who has not yet heard about the famous Sellaronda? This ski tour round the Sella alpenstock is the ideal suggestion for an active day on skis under the open winterly sky. By the way, also nighttime skiing is possible in this area, as some of the slopes are illuminated at night.
The eight snow parks of the Val di Fassa mainly attract youngsters, as this is the ideal place for rockies, snowboarders and freestylers. Jumps, rails and kickers for daring jumps are guaranteed. Moreover the Val di Fassa valley is a paradise for those who love cross-country skiing. In the heart of the Dolomites there are 50 km of ski slopes surrounded by a breathtaking natural scenery. The most famous cross-country ski competition is the “Marcialonga” of 70 km, taking place on the last Sunday in the month of January.
Services for skiers
Of course there are several ski, snowboard and freeride schools with qualified ski and snowboard instructors. As far as your skiing equipment is concerned, you can comfortably rent your gear on site. At our reception, the reduced ski bus ticket is available that makes you reach several skiing areas in the surroundings at reduced rates. For the little ones, there is often a special children’s programme or a ski kindergarden.
Further winter sports
For those who do not like skiing or cross-country skiing, there are also other possibilities for sports, such as hockey, ice skating, ice climbing, fat ebike, fitness, Nordic Walking, horse-drawn sleigh rides, horse riding, snow-shoeing, bowling, squash and winter walking.
